We are Debbie Leland and Beverly “B.J.” White, two native Oklahomans who came together fourteen years ago to start a catering company just east of the historic Paseo district of Oklahoma City. We call ourselves The Prairie Gypsies; a name we believe portrays the essence of where we live and who we are.

One day, in between catering parties and corporate lunches, with armloads of fresh basil from our gardens, our food line was born. After weeks of making load after load of fresh basil pesto which we use daily in our catering business, we had the idea that maybe the herb could take us on a different path…jelly! We were curious, not afraid to try anything and our trial and error yielded Apple Basil Jelly. With as bumper crop of blackberries that same summer, we made blackberry sage jelly. The rest is history and we haven’t had a day off since!

We now manufacture and market a wonderful selection of gourmet jams, jellies, fruit butters, mustards and salad dressings…available for sale individually or cleverly assembled in unique gift sets in a range of prices. All of our products are made by hand, one pot at a time, with great pride and delight.

Perhaps the best news is the recipes we have developed specifically around these products. This has meant not only a tasty leap for our catering repertoire, but extended use and great joy to all who buy our products.
