PrimaCafe began operations in 1997 roasting coffee for independent coffeehouses and retail stores in Oklahoma City. Gary Hargrave and Lee Morrison started the company with little more than the idea of bringing exceptional quality coffees to Oklahoma. The two spent years learning the art and craft of coffee roasting and tasting hundreds of coffees from estates around the world.

The mission of PrimaCafe is twofold. PrimaCafe is in business to bring to our customers the highest quality coffees possible while promoting a better standard of living for the farmers who cultivate this coffee. We carefully select each coffee for its exceptional cup characteristics and its artisanal farming practices.

We support independent farmers and small farmers co-ops whenever possible. All coffees available through the Oklahoma Food Cooperative are Certified Organic and Fair Trade Certified. PrimaCafe is very proud to serve as the link between people who have a passion for excellent coffee and the grower who produces it.

Single-Origin or Single Estate Coffees: Brazil, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Peru, Sumatra, Timor

Blends and Espressos: Cafe Amerique, Cafe Voltaire, Morningside Breakfast Blend, Decaf Komodo.

All of these products are Fair Trade Certified and Certified Organic. All coffee is custom roasted upon receipt of your order at our Oklahoma City location. Single-Origin coffees are roasted to our Dark American Roast style (a medium roast). Grinding is available at $.20 per pound. All coffee will be delivered whole bean unless otherwise specified. PrimaCafe is certified as an organic processor by the Oklahoma Dept of Agriculture, and all of our coffees are certified organic by various agencies throughout the world. All coffees are small-batch, drum roasted in our roasterie in Oklahoma City upon receipt of orders. We identify and promote the country of origin on each single-origin or single-estate coffee whenever possible. However, due to irregular supply, it is difficult to publish any information about the specific farm from which the coffee originated. The best quality coffees grow only in tropical climates, at high altitudes, in volcanic soil. No coffee is grown commercially in Oklahoma.

We fully guarantee all our coffees. If you are not satisfied with your coffee for any reason, please contact us. we will make every effort to correct the problem or we’ll issue a refund.

Fair Trade Certified coffees come exclusively from independent farmers or small co-ops. They are, by nature, in very limited supply. We will identify the estate from which your coffee originates when possible, but this estate will change frequently throughout the year. We always attempt to maintain a steady supply of coffees. However, due to variables in harvesting, climate, and political conditions, some coffees may be unavailable from time to time. In this event, we will offer you a substitute selected by our Roastmaster.
